C and I went on a spontaneous adventure this past weekend. We took a drive south out of the city. We planned to stop by Ikea to get somethings I needed, but we added a few last-minute plans. We made a quick but very pleasant trip to Occoquan. It is a sleepy little town that sits just outside the beltway on the Occoquan River. I suppose it is technically a suburb of DC, but it feels very different, very rural. Rural is a good, good thing in my book. We strolled around, looked in antique shops for bookcases (can’t afford antiques… womp womp), and shared a limeade. Great day!

Hope you’re enjoying your summer, too!
